In 1978 Brazilian photographer Rosa Gauditano was commissioned by the magazine Veja to contribute photos for a feature article about the lesbian community in Sao Paulo.
Brazil in the 70s was still a country under military dictatorship and homosexuality was a taboo subject in Brazilian society and the national media.
The article was never published. In 2018 – nearly 40 years after the photos were taken – the photos are exhibited for the first time as a complete series at Albumen Gallery.
